Love Your Lashes the Way You Love the Rest of Your Face! Healthier Alternatives to Toxic Lash Glue.

Transitioning to a healthier isn’t always easy, but oh it is sooo worth it! As you all know my transition to healthier life includes my beauty routine a great deal. I just could not and WOULD NOT settle with stripping away my glam lifestyle. Makeup is a huge part of my outlet to express my creativity, boost my self-esteem, and just have fun!

When it came to lashes I was ready to conform and just give them up. Sadly many of the eyelashes are not Cruelty-Free and when it comes to Lash Adhesives many are loaded with toxic ingredients. Ingredients like Parabens, Fragrance, and Phosphates can cause allergic reactions and can really irritate and harm your eyes. The ingredient that I find most alarming is Formaldehyde. Formaldehyde is an organic compound that’s been recently recognized by the EPA as a Carcinogen.

After a glam session consisting of lashes, I noticed lots of red tiny bumps appeared around my eyes. I would wake up the next day with a really sensitive, sore, irritated eye area which led me to have fewer makeup days. Which I am okay with as I truly believe letting your skin breathe is key. However I want it to be my choice and I never want to be in pain because of my passion for makeup. I’ve come to the conclusion that many of the conventional lash glues were not helping my cause for a greener lifestyle. So I am so excited to share with you my top two Lash glue options and some cruelty free lashes I know you will love!

[disclaim]When trying new products I suggest testing it on your wrist or the back of your hand 24 hours before using it on your delicate eye area. If you see a red mark, rash, or any sign of swelling or irritation it is safe to say you probably shouldn’t be using it. [/disclaim]

Georgie Beauty

The best performing Cruelty-Free Lash Adhesive out there! The hold on this baby is impeccable and performance just as, if not better than the conventional popular competitor Ardell Duo Adhesive. Not for nothing but have you ever smelled that glue? It just screams TOXIC. Winks Adhesive by Georgie Beauty is the first dermatologist tested, PETA and 100% Vegan Certified eyelash glue. It’s infused with USDA Certified Organic blue chamomile that’ll be sure to help soothe the thinnest layer of your skin. Now this isn’t the greenest option out there but it does not contain formaldehyde, phthalates, or paraben so it’s definitely something I can work with. (Retails for $8.00)

When I discovered True Glue Adhesive I literally jumped for joy. One look at the ingredients and I knew this was a dream come true for anyone looking for a healthy alternative. It doesn’t hold as well as the Georgie Brand but considering the ingredients I am willing to compromise. It isn’t 100% Vegan because of the beeswax used but they are Cruelty-Free. I would suggest applying these with a lightweight lash that has a thin band (which are pretty easy to come by). It applies and dries on clear so you won’t have to worry about lining your eyes if it doesn’t go with Check out these amazing ingredients and do yourself the favor and GO GET SOME! (Retails for $15.99)

Rosewater, Chamomile Extract, Biotin, Candelila Wax, Pullulann, Geranium, Glycerin, Beeswax, and Castor Oil.

When it comes to lashes the top of the line for Silk Handmade Mink Alternatives are:

Battington Lashes- caution with the band it is thicker than I am used to but it actually helps when applying liner and making the lash-line look flawless. The first time I applied them the band did poke my eye so I found that trimming them to fit my eye shape did the trick.

Winks by Georgie Beauty- beautiful styles available retailing at just $15 like the one photographed above. Style No. 2 ‘L’Avant Gardiste’ Faux Lashes is my favorite as it starts off short on the inner corner and flares out becoming fuller as they go. This band is very thin so and lightweight so it is super easy to apply.

Ardell Lashes- When it comes to affordable Cruelty Free I have to give it to Ardell. Although their glue is not my favorite I can always count on their lashes to save the day for any style and look I am going for. The fact that I can find them in my local CVS doesn’t hurt either.

It’s time to break the mold and make some changes, one lash at a time! Comment below if there are any other organic or cruelty free lashes/lash glue you can’t live without!
